Huber Heights Man Sentenced To Three Years For Groping Teen In Greene County

A Huber Heights man who sexually abused a teenage girl for years has been sentenced to three years in prison by a Greene County judge.

Anthony Dean Sellers, 38, was convicted of two counts of gross sexual imposition in September after a jury heard the testimony of the victim and the evidence gathered by the Greene County Sheriff’s Office.

Details Of The Abuse

The case came to light in February of 2023 when the victim passed a note to a family member. This revealed that Sellers had been abusing her repeatedly at different locations in Greene and Montgomery counties.

The family member reported the abuse to the authorities, and the victim was interviewed by the staff at CareHouse, a child advocacy center. Eventually, the investigation confirmed that the abuse had been going on for several years.

Trial And Sentence

The jury indicted Sellers in February and arrested him shortly after. Later on, the jury sentenced him on Dec. 20 with the maximum penalty of three years in prison for each count.

After the abuse case, Greene County Prosecutor David Hayes praised the courage of the victim. He also applauded the work of the detective and the assistant prosecutor who handled the case.

“It took courage for this child to come forward and tell the truth about what Anthony Sellers did to her. The jury rewarded that courage, recognized that truth and found Anthony Sellers guilty,” Hayes said in a statement.

“Detective Christopher Sticka of the Greene County Sheriff’s Office spearheaded the investigation, and Assistant Prosecutor Bill Morrison and Victim Advocate Rebecca Walsh put together the prosecution case. Working together, they achieved this successful outcome for the victim,” he added.

On Sellers’ part, his attorney declined to comment on the verdict or the sentence.

Conclusion

As this case continues to receive widespread attention, it brings to the forefront the critical need for communities to prioritize the protection of vulnerable individuals and to advocate for justice in cases of abuse.

It is through such collective efforts that communities can work towards creating a safer and more just society for all.
