Assault and Defamation: The Legal Struggles of Jonathan Majors

Former Marvel actor Jonathan Majors is facing serious allegations by his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. Jabbari filed a lawsuit against Majors after his criminal guilty verdict last December, alleging defamation, among other allegations.

Jabbari, a dance artist and movement instructor who was romantically involved with Majors for two years starting in 2021, brought forth the civil suit in the Southern District of New York. The legal complaint asserts that Majors was violent toward her in New York, Los Angeles, and London. She accuses him of causing her a serious head injury. In addition, the lawsuit alleges that Majors threatened Jabbari’s life at various times. So also alleges he has had a history of abusive behavior toward women since 2013.

The defamation counts in the lawsuit allege that Majors, 34, carried out a wide-reaching media campaign with the purpose of ruining Jabbari’s reputation. In the lawsuit, he denied the allegations and labeled her as deceitful. In addition, he added that he never assaulted a girl physically. This was an attempt to make people believe that Jabbari was not the victim of domestic abuse.

Mr. Majors’ attorney, Priya Chaudhry stated that the lawsuit was not unexpected and announced that countersuits against Jabbari were being prepared. Rolling Stone initially reported the news of the lawsuit.

Brittany Henderson, Jabbari’s lawyer, lauded her client for having the nerve to sue a powerful and famous person like Majors. Henderson had great faith in the lawsuit being a critical step for truth and transparency, which, in turn, would provide justice to Jabbari.

The spotlight on Majors’ previous life with increased claims by Emma Duncan and Maura Hooper, two of his ex-loved ones, also came out. In an article published last year by the New York Times, both shared their emotional struggle during a relationship with each other. However, Chaudhry, Mr. Majors’ attorney, strongly opposes these accusations on behalf of his client. He rejected the allegations of physical violence and the labeling of their relationship as “toxic.”

Criminal Conviction

Another major factor in this saga is his criminal conviction. During the preceding year’s spring season, Major got involved in an incident with the law. Jabbari had alleged that Majors caused harm to her during an argument while they were in a car in Manhattan.
